Toddler and Child Safe Chlorine Exposure Tips
“Why does my toddler's skin get red & itchy, plus they have a runny nose after the swimming pool?”
Whether you are going to the community swimming pool, vacationing at Great Wolf Lodge, or staying local at Splash Kingdom, chlorine exposure can be rough on a little one's skin.
One of our favorite ways to reduce the issues chlorine can cause is by putting a barrier on the skin, giving liver and binder supplements, and then rinse off afterwards. What does that look like?
Before entering the pool:
We love the Swim Spray by Rowe Casa to be sprayed onto the skin and let dry.
Then you can apply sunscreen of choice and let dry.
Take the binder. Our favorite binder to help “mop up” is HMET by CellCore that is specific for heavy metals and environmental toxins. This can be found at our clinic.
After swimming:
Rinse off in shower or water hose
If there is an issue with red or itchy skin, runny nose, headaches or more with pool exposure, (even with the mentioned tips above), then we would add in some liver support (such as DrainageTone by Energetix, Trizomal Glutathione liquid or topical) or a natural antihistamine called DHist Jr by Orthomolecular.
